We do not put on a garment by admiring it from across the room. Paul’s clothing language turns beautiful virtues into practices a community must actually wear.

The passage begins with received identity: chosen, holy and loved. Compassion grows from belonging, not from anxious image management.

Love binds the virtues together, while Christ’s peace rules the shared body. Peace is more than the absence of visible conflict; it seeks a community where people can flourish.
