When the new temple foundation is laid, some people shout with joy while elders who remember the former temple weep loudly. The sounds cannot be separated.

A real foundation has been laid, and celebration is appropriate. New beginnings deserve joy.
The elders’ tears are not disloyalty. They carry memory of loss that younger participants may not share.
The community does not force one emotion to silence the other. Scripture preserves a soundscape of praise and grief together.
Healthy rebuilding honours progress while listening to people for whom change reopens loss. Unity does not require emotional sameness.
