Passage context
After ministry in Samaria, Philip is directed south toward the Gaza road. He meets an Ethiopian official responsible for the Kandake’s treasury, returning from worship in Jerusalem and reading Isaiah aloud in his chariot.
Devotional introduction
The official’s scroll and senior travelling position remain visible so that the story is not reduced to a powerful teacher rescuing an uninformed stranger. The unfinished road holds the conversation within a journey God has already been guiding.
